REFLECTION ON FEBRUARY 11TH, 2020
To expand my knowledge on my capstone project, I have looked into Ted Talks that talk about the effects of social media and encourage people to make an effort to branch away from popular platforms. I have found these Ted Talks incredibly interesting and helpful because they allow me to integrate an experts opinion into my understanding of my topic. I hope to speak with DW and Dr. Holt. I believe that these internal sources will help me understand how society works in relation to social media because both sources know a lot about how our society functions. I would like to start off by asking how my sources feel about social media and how they interact with these platforms on a daily basis. The most crucial importation I hope to gain from speaking with these sources is a deeper understanding of our society. I hope to speak with Bernard B. Kahan, as an external source. Dr. Kahan is a reputable psychiatrist in Atlanta. The first question I would like to ask him is how he personally feels about social media. The most important information I hope to gain while interviewing him is how teens in Atlanta are effected by technology and social media. I believe that he would be an amazing source for this because he talks to many teens a day about their lives and I believe this would give him a solid idea of how the general teenage population in the Atlanta area feels about, and is effected by, social media. I would like to continue my thinking by asking questions that focus heavily on how the human brain functions and how it is altered when it comes into contact with social media. Essintially, I would like to begin focusing more on the science aspect of my capstone exploration.

REFLECTION ON MARCH 20TH, 2020
In terms of putting together a draft for my written piece, I feel like i have "hit a wall" because I am lacking some of the factual evidence that I was hoping to have obtained trough and interview with Val Schonberg by this point. However, because of the Corona Virus, we had to cancel our meeting and move the interview. This set back was a little bit stressful for me however, I feel like I have formulated a strong thesis that encapsulates my main ideas and will capture the attention of readers. I am hoping that when I get a chance to talk with Val Schonberg, she will give me unique scores to look into so that I can gather more information to include in my written piece. I feel like sometimes teenagers can get defensive over social media when people criticize it, so i think it could be helpful for me to level with my readers in the aspect that social media can be beneficial so that they can compromise with me and open themselves up to learning about the dangers that come along with it.
