This site explained how social media is linked to our ability to focus on things. I used the information I drew from this source to demonstrate how damaging media outlets are for our minds. Cohen, Randy. "Should Photos Come With Warning Labels?" The New York Times, 20 Oct. 2009, ethicist.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/20/ should-photos-come-with-warning-labels/. Accessed 15 Mar. 2020.
This article revolves around the topic that is incredibly popular at this time. Many people are arguing that all photos that are photoshopped must come with a “warning label.” This is a regulation that many people want to be passed as a law; because, they believe that it will help with the incredibly large issue of body image in our modern day society. Seeing as body image in Photoshop has become a huge dilemma for young women, it is clear that a regulation such as this is past due. I used this source to address the issue of photoshop heavily prevalent throughout social media.
"Society and Body Image and It's Impact On Our Kids." Narrated by Dana Suchow. Mighty Parenting | Raising Teens | Parenting Young Adults, episode 32, 27 Aug. 2018.
I wanted to look further into body image so I listened to the “Society and Body Image and It's Impact On Our Kids” podcast. This Podcast helped me to understand the effects of body image in our society and really showed me how big of an issue these topics are. It showed me how important image is in our society and how this translates to young women and eating disorders. I listened to this podcast early on as well, and I'm really grateful for that, as it provided an amazing base for the rest of the knowledge I would acquire throughout my research.

I used this source to provide a positive perspective on social media.

This source addressed how although social media is commonly known as something that we should avoid because it causes memory loss or shorter attention spans, in reality it is good for our brains. Specifically, social media helps to improve our working memory. I used this source to demonstrate how social media can help us to improve, if used correctly.

I read an article about the importance of the working memory and I wanted to learn more about its role and this journal helped me get a detailed description of how important it is. I used the information I drew from this article to back up how helpful social media can be if used correctly.
